Task Centres
Background

Mathematics Task Centres have been established in primary (elementary and middle) schools, secondary (high) schools and tertiary institutions (colleges) for more than 20 years.

The Task Centre framework for teaching has been adopted by thousands of teachers across Australia, the UK, the USA and in many other countries with exciting results.

Students and teachers alike have come to see the value of hands-on mathematical problem-solving. Mathematics is seen to be fun when students work cooperatively on solving the puzzle-like mathematics problems. Students learn social skills while developing mathematical understanding.

A Mathematical Task Centre is also known as a Maths Task Centre, Problem Solving Task Centre, Think Tank, Math Task Centre, Mathematics Centre, Mathematics Learning Centre and Activity Centre.
