For many years Mathematics Consultant Michael Richards has made presentations and led curriculum development to do with mathematics education, the Thinking-Oriented Curriculum, assessment, curriculum planning, problem-solving, rich tasks and writing about mathematics.

In recent years he has provided consultancy services to:

• Leading Edge Professional Development (now Pearson Education)
• Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development
• Victorian Independent Education Union
• Eaglehawk Cluster in Bendigo Victoria, and many other clusters of schools
• many Primary and Secondary schools

He is an author of educational materials, and has been Education Officer with the Mathematical Association of Victoria. In schools he has taught mathematics to year 12 level, and led the areas of Middle Years, Curriculum, Professional Development, and Mathematics. He now works with teachers and teacher teams across Australia. He is currently devoting much of his time to coaching and presenting in the Western Metropolitan Region of Victoria, Australia.
